COVID-19 Related Changes to Air France's Baggage Policy

Air France has made some changes to its baggage policy to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and comply with the health and safety regulations imposed by different countries.

Carry-on Baggage

Air France now allows only one carry-on bag per passenger on all flights, regardless of the route or fare type. The size and weight limit for carry-on baggage remains the same, with a maximum weight of 12 kg and a maximum size of 55 x 35 x 25 cm. Passengers are also allowed to bring one personal item, such as a laptop bag or a purse.

Checked Baggage

For flights to and from the United States and Canada, Air France has reduced the number of checked bags allowed for Economy and Premium Economy Class passengers from two to one. However, the weight limit for the checked bag remains 23 kg (50 lbs).

For Business Class and La Première passengers, the number of checked bags remains the same, but the weight limit has been reduced to 32 kg (70 lbs) from the previous 40 kg (88 lbs) limit. Passengers traveling to and from Brazil, Africa, and the Indian Ocean can check in two bags up to 32 kg each.

For flights to and from Europe, North Africa, and Israel, Air France has temporarily reduced the number of checked bags allowed for all passengers, regardless of the fare type. Economy and Premium Economy Class passengers are now allowed only one checked bag, weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Business Class and La Première passengers are allowed two checked bags, each weighing up to 32 kg (70 lbs).

Additional Baggage Fees

Air France has temporarily waived the additional baggage fee for passengers traveling to and from Europe, North Africa, and Israel. This policy applies to all tickets issued from March 23, 2020, to April 30, 2023. Passengers traveling to and from other destinations will be subject to the usual additional baggage fees.
