How much of the ocean has been explored so far?
It is estimated that less than 5% of the world's oceans have been explored and mapped in detail. This is due in part to the vast size of the ocean, which covers over 70% of the Earth's surface and reaches depths of up to 36,000 feet. The deep ocean is particularly difficult to explore due to the extreme pressures and lack of light, which makes it challenging to capture images and collect data. However, advances in technology such as underwater drones and remote sensing have enabled scientists to explore deeper and more remote areas of the ocean. Despite these advances, much of the ocean remains unexplored, and there is still much to learn about how much of the ocean has been explored.
